摘要 The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling creep torque of a hybrid electric vehicle, performing a control operation to output creep torque to improve shifting feeling and fuel efficiency when performing transmission before the hybrid electric vehicle having a step type-transmission is stopped. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for controlling creep torque of a hybrid electric vehicle comprises a step of detecting data on the hybrid vehicle for controlling creep torque; a step of determining whether the vehicle performs transmission from a current shift stage to a first shift stage when the speed of the hybrid vehicle is a preset speed or more based on the detected data, and the current shift stage of the hybrid electric vehicle is a third shift stage or a second shift stage; a step of applying a creep torque factor according of a shift stage and the quantity of braking when the hybrid electric vehicle performs transmission from the third shift stage or the second shift stage to the first shift stage; and a step of controlling a motor to output creep torque where the creep torque factor has been applied.
