The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transmitting a channel state information reference signal. A base station includes multiple first resource elements (REs) corresponding to at least two of second, third, and fourth orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols of a first time slot into a first CSI-RS resource pool that is set in a first sub-frame including the first time slot and a second time slot subsequent to the first time slot. The base station performs CSI-RS transmission by using at least one of the REs included in the first CSI-RS resource pool.
