The present invention relates to a fault monitoring system and a fault monitoring method of a photoelectric cable assembly. According to the present invention, a fault monitoring system of a photoelectric cable assembly, which is provided with a power line unit having a conductor and an optical fiber unit abutting on the power line unit and having one or more optical fibers, includes: a first monitoring device for inputting first monitoring light having a first wavelength band to the optical fiber, receiving the scattered first monitoring light to sense whether the photoelectric cable assembly is subjected to an impact or disconnection of the optical fiber, and for sensing a position at which the impact or the disconnection occurs; and a second monitoring device for inputting second monitoring light having a second wavelength band to the optical fiber and for receiving scattered second monitoring light to determine a deformation degree of the optical fiber. |
