PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake friction material which enables the quality degradation of electrostatic coating to be suppressed even when the copper content in the brake friction material is less than 5 mass%.SOLUTION: There is provided a brake friction material 3 which contains at least reinforcing fiber, binder, lubricant, friction adjustment material, and filler. The percentage content of copper in the brake friction material 3 is less than 5 mass% based on 100 mass% of the total amount of the brake friction material 3. The brake friction material 3 contains a fiber material having conductivity and an apparent density of 0.6 g/cmor more and 1.3 g/cmor less, in an amount of 2 mass% or more and 10 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
