Disclosed are a mobile terminal and a control method thereof. The mobile terminal and the control method thereof are capable of overlapping and displaying a recognized uniform resource locator (URL) address on a preview screen and directly executing another function, displayed on a menu using the URL address, when the URL address is recognized through a camera. According to the present invention, the URL address, recognized on the preview screen, is scanned while the recognized URL address is used by being interlinked with another application installed in the mobile terminal at the same time. The present invention includes: a camera; a display unit; and a control part overlapping and displaying the recognized URL address on the preview screen if the URL address is recognized through the camera. |
