The reactive layer contains about 5 atomic % to about 15 atomic % of Ti, about 5 atomic % to about 15 atomic % of Si, and about 2 atomic % to about 10 atomic % of V.

A multilayer ceramic capacitor comprising: a ceramic body including first and second principal surfaces extending in a length direction and a width direction, first and second side surfaces extending in the length direction and a thickness direction, and first and second end surfaces extending in the width direction and the thickness direction; a first internal electrode extending in the length direction and the width direction, provided in the ceramic body, and exposed at the first end surface; a second internal electrode extending in the length direction and the width direction, provided in the ceramic body, exposed at the second end surface, and the second internal electrode facing the first internal electrode in the height direction with a ceramic portion interposed therebetween; a first external electrode provided over the first end surface, and over a portion of each of the first and second principal surfaces; and a second external electrode provided over the second end surface, and over a portion of each of the first and second principal surfaces; wherein the first and second external electrodes each includes a base layer provided over the ceramic body and containing a metal and glass, and a Cu plated layer provided over the base layer; and a boundary layer is provided between the base layer and the ceramic body, the boundary layer containing about 5 mol % to about 15 mol % of Ti, about 5 mol % to about 15 mol % of Si, and about 2 mol % to about 10 mol % of V.
