CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD FOR Ni-CONTAINING STEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method capable of suppressing the occurrence of a surface crack of a cast member in Ni-containing steel manufactured by using a vertical flexure die or a curvature type continuous casting machine.SOLUTION: At the time when steel containing Ni is continuously cast by using a vertical flexure type continuous casting machine or a curvature type continuous casting machine, the Ni concentration in molten steel is set to 0.2 to 3% by mass whereas the Cr concentration is set to 0.2 to 1% by mass, and the correction of a cast chip is performed at the surface temperature at 800°C or higher. By controlling the steel composition, the occurrence of a surface crack can be suppressed without increasing the production cost or the manufacturing process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
