PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a lithium-containing metal oxide which enables the achievement of a large lithium content and a long life when used as a positive electrode active material of a lithium ion secondary battery, and which allows a large current to flow readily in discharge.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a lithium-containing metal oxide comprises the following three steps in turn. In the step(1), a lithium-containing metal oxide which includes a metal element constituting a desired positive electrode active material, has a spinel crystal structure and therefore, has a high elemental dispersibility is obtained. In the step (2), the metal oxide obtained in the step (1) is mixed with a particular lithium compound into a mixture, and the mixture is baked, thereby additionally introducing a lithium element into the metal oxide. In the step (3), the metal oxide obtained in the step (2) is put into contact with an acid aqueous solution and then, baked at a particular temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
