PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain information about a storage area of a storage device.SOLUTION: Storage devices 1000 each include a storage unit 1100 for storing data to be read/written by a host computer therein, and a control unit 1220 for controlling writing of the data to the storage unit 1100. The control unit 1220 provides a predetermined storage area of the storage unit 1100 as one or more volumes to the host computer 2000, and provides statistical information about the storage area to a management computer 5000 in response to a request from the management computer 5000. The management computer 5000 includes a storage unit 5100 for storing therein a storage area management table for managing storage areas of the plural storage devices 1000, and a control unit 5200 for managing configuration of the storage areas of the plural storage devices. The control unit 5200 manages data configuration of the plural storage devices 1000 on the basis of the statistical information about the storage areas of the storage devices 1000 provided by the plural storage devices 1000. |
