A fluid flow control device comprises a body or casing with an annular concave surface 23 formed on the upstream side of an aperture 21, grooves 25 extending radially inwards from the periphery of the concave surface to points short of the inner edge thereof, and a resilient disc 10 supported at its periphery by the surface, the disc being deformed by the fluid-pressure within the device to reduce the area of the effective flow path through the grooves 25. The body or casing comprises a cap member 1 and an outlet member 20 with co-operating concave and convex surfaces 45 held in engagement by a flanged nut 40. The cap member 1 has a threaded inlet 5, a spider with arms 2 supporting the disc 10, and a counterbored cylindrical chamber with spaced guide-ribs 9 for the disc 10. The outlet member 20 has a threaded outlet connection 28 and is formed with a cylindrical portion 29 spaced from a counterbore 7 in the cap member. The grooves 25 taper inwardly. The grooves 25 and also a set of smaller grooves 125 are of triangular section. Fluid by-passing these grooves enters inclined holes 26, these holes being also inclined to a diameter of the aperture 21 so that the flow through them promotes turbulence.
