PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method of heads for cleaning nozzle opening surfaces of the heads, and suppressing occurrence of discharge failure of ink from nozzles.SOLUTION: A cleaning method of heads in a liquid discharge device comprising a circulation flow channel comprising heads, a storage part for storing liquid, a first flow channel for supplying the liquid from the storage part to the heads, and a second flow channel for returning the liquid from the heads to the storage part, a circulation pump, and a wiping part includes: a first step of setting flow rate per unit time of the liquid flowing through the circulation flow channel to first flow rate which is greater than that when discharging the liquid to a recording medium; a second step in which the wiping part executes wiping processing after the first step; and a third step of setting the flow rate per unit time of the liquid flowing through the circulation flow channel to second flow rate which is smaller than the first flow rate, after the second step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
