PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a front passenger seat, enabling an air bag completed in inflation to securely receive a passenger at the time of vehicle oblique collision.SOLUTION: An air bag 31 folded and stored in a storage portion 95 lets gas G for inflation flow into and is deployed and inflated from the storage portion to the rear side so as to protect a passenger PM seated on a front passenger seat in actuation. The air bag 31 includes: a main bag part 33 including on the rear surface a front collision binding surface 40 for receiving the passenger at the time of vehicle front collision; and an auxiliary bag part 50 including at the lateral side an oblique collision binding surface 55 for receiving the passenger's head H at the time of vehicle oblique collision. The auxiliary bag part is completed in inflation by an oblique collision binding part 54 projected behind the main bag part and having the oblique collision binding surface as a high pressure part 57 for making inner pressure higher than that of the main bag part. The front part side of the auxiliary bag part is communicated with the main bag part, partitioned from the high pressure part with a partition wall 59, and arranged with a low pressure part 58 with low inner pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
