<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste powder recovery device capable of efficiently accommodating waste powder in a container and avoiding as much as possible problems such as retention of waste powder or erroneous detection of an accommodated amount. <P>SOLUTION: The waste powder recovery device drops waste powder including waste toner and/or waste developer through a plurality of discharge ports 45a to 45d, 46a to 46d and 47 to accommodate the powder in a recovery container 50. The recovery container 50 is provided with detection means for detecting an accommodated amount, disposed in an approximately center part, and also with a stirring/conveying member 60. The stirring/conveying member 60 includes: a normal direction conveyance part 65 conveying the waste powder, based on the rotation thereof, approximately toward the center part of the accommodation container 50; and a reverse direction conveyance part 66 disposed approximately at the center part and conveying the waste powder based on the rotation thereof, in a reverse direction.
