PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely carry out setting corresponding to a recording medium housed in a recording device.SOLUTION: A recording device 1 of a recording system 2a includes: a tag communication device 16 which reads information from an RFID tag arranged on a housed roll sheet; a recording head 10 which records on the roll sheet; and a control part 30 which acquires medium setting information based on a read result of the tag communication device 16, carries out setting relating to the recording medium based on the acquired information, and transmits the medium setting information. A host computer 3 includes a control device control part 50 which receives the medium setting information and carries out setting relating to the recording medium based on the received information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
