APPARATUS FOR DETECTING USER GAZE POINT, AND METHOD THEREOF

Disclosed is a method for detecting a user gaze, which comprises: a step of performing the photographing with a depth camera to obtain a depth map; a step of removing a background region except a person region from the depth map; a step of estimating a face position and a posture in the person region; a conversion step of calculating a position of a user gaze of a three-dimensional actual coordinate system by using the estimated position and posture, and converting the position of the user gaze into a position of a user gaze of a two-dimensional pixel coordinate system; and a gaze detection step of calculating a point in which a user gaze is positioned on a display panel by using a resolution of the display panel, and the position of the user gaze of the two-dimensional pixel coordinate system. Accordingly, the point of the user gaze can be calculated without influence of illumination.
