PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in determining presence/absence of precipitation in a technique of determining the presence/absence of the precipitation.SOLUTION: A radar device is provided with: a transmission part that transmits a radar wave in which frequency modulation is performed such that one measurement cycle includes an ascending section in which a frequency gradually increases and a descending section in which the frequency gradually decreases; a reception part that derives a beat signal of each of the ascending section and the descending section; and a signal processing part that executes a precipitation determination process based on a result of analyzing the beat signal. In the precipitation determination process, when no object is present within a transmission range of the radar wave as a result of a frequency analysis of the beat signal (S350:NO), it is determined whether or not an agreement degree between a frequency spectrum of each of the ascending section and the descending section and a precipitation reference spectrum is higher than a specific threshold that is previously specified, and if the spectrum agreement degree is higher than the specific threshold as a result of the determination, it is determined that precipitation is present (S360-S380).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
