PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chopping block that is safe for everybody as well as for infants, while there is danger if a kitchen knife is temporarily put on the side of a chopping block with the handle on the near side during cooking because the knife may be easily reached by the hand of an infant and because it might be accidentally dropped or the blade of the knife temporarily put on may be touched even by an adult, and while infants cannot be made to learn the danger.SOLUTION: The chopping block is structured such that, along the peripheral edge on the surface of the chopping block where oppositely facing two sides are linear, a gently inclined groove 4 having a depth equal to the thickness of the chopping block is provided in a manner reaching both left and right sides of the block. Also, a plurality of small holes 5 are drilled in the bottom of the groove 4. On the reverse side of the chopping block, there are provided the groove 4 and the small holes 5 that are similar to those on the surface at the positions symmetrical about those on the surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
