Provided are an optical modulator modulating optical signals and an optical module including the same. The optical modulator includes a lower clad layer, an optical transmission line extended in a first direction on the lower clad layer, and an upper clad layer on the optical transmission line and the lower clad layer. The optical transmission line may include graphene.

1. An optical modulator comprising:
a lower clad layer; an optical transmission line extending in a first direction on the lower clad layer; and an upper clad layer on the optical transmission line and the lower clad layer, wherein the optical transmission line comprises graphene, wherein the optical transmission line comprises an input region, a modulation region, and an output region with respect to the first direction, wherein the modulation region of the optical transmission line is interposed between the input region and the output region, and extended wider than the input and output regions in a second direction crossing the first direction.
