A wearable device assembly has a housing supporting a controller, display and indicator system thereon. The controller has at least one sensor wherein activity of a user wearing the device is detected. The controller selectively illuminates the indicator system to indicate a level of activity of the user.

1. A method comprising:
detecting, at a first device, that a second device is within a first threshold proximity, wherein the second device is configured to be worn by a user; in response to the detection, automatically receiving, at the first device, a first set of athletic activity data transmitted by the second device; determining, at a processor, a number of activity points earned by the user based on the received first set of athletic activity data; receiving user input indicating one or more activity time periods; categorizing, at the processor, the one or more activity time periods in accordance with at least a first category of activity time periods; and recommending a first athletic activity and a time period to perform the first athletic activity based, at least in part, on the number of activity points earned by the user and the first category of activity time periods.
