PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of avoiding breakage of a gradient magnetic field coil.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus of one embodiment includes a data collection system and a gradient magnetic field coil diagnosis part. The data collection system collects a magnetic resonance signal from a subject. The gradient magnetic field coil diagnosis part presents information indicating the state of the gradient magnetic field coil based on a phase shift amount of the magnetic resonance signal. The gradient magnetic field coil diagnosis part is configured so as to generate information indicating the state of the gradient magnetic field coil by threshold processing of the phase shift amount based on a threshold according to a collection condition of the magnetic resonance signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
