摘要 The present invention relates to a light emitting diode including an electrode pad to improve luminous efficiency. The light emitting diode according to the present invention includes a second conductivity type semiconductor layer; an active layer arranged on the second conductivity type semiconductor layer; a first conductivity type semiconductor layer arranged on the active layer; a via hole which penetrates the first conductivity type semiconductor layer; a first electrode pad which is arranged on the upper surface of the first conductivity type semiconductor layer and is in ohmic contact with the upper surface of the first conductivity type semiconductor layer; a groove region which is arranged in the lower part of the first conductivity type semiconductor layer and exposes the lower surface of the first conductivity type semiconductor layer; and a first electrode which is arranged on the groove region and is in ohmic contact with the lower surface of the first conductivity type semiconductor layer. The first electrode pad is extended through the via hole and may be electrically connected to the first electrode.
