An apparatus and a method of adjusting current response for balancing of output current are disclosed. The apparatus for adjusting response of output current of a grid-connected inverter according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a positive sequence/negative sequence extracting unit for extracting a positive sequence voltage and a negative sequence voltage from a supply voltage to the grid-connected inverter; a current-controlled voltage calculating unit for obtaining unbalance by using the positive sequence voltage and the negative sequence voltage, and calculating a voltage for negative sequence for controlling negative sequence current and a voltage for positive sequence for controlling positive sequence current by adjusting a voltage usage ratio in a relation with a controllable maximum voltage of an inverter DC link connected to the grid-connected inverter; and a current control unit for adjusting response of a positive current controller and a negative current controller by using the voltage for the positive sequence and the voltage for the negative sequence.
