PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element including a light-shielding plate (light-shielding part) with a sharp edge without roughing a surface of a glass substrate.SOLUTION: An optical element used in an imaging apparatus including a built-in solid state imaging element comprises: a transparent substrate including, on both surfaces, an incidence surface for receiving light travelling toward the solid state imaging element, and an emission surface through which the light incident in the incidence surface is transmitted and emitted toward the solid state imaging element; an etching stopper layer formed covering at least one surface of the incidence surface and the emission surface; a translucent part formed on a center part of the transparent substrate and transmitting a part of the light therethrough; and a light-shielding part formed on the etching stopper layer so as to surround an outer periphery of the translucent part in a frame-like manner, and shielding a part of light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
