PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-destructive carbon dioxide generator with which carbon dioxide is efficiently generated by a simple system, and to provide a carbon dioxide generating system in which the self-destructive carbon dioxide generator is installed.SOLUTION: A self-destructive carbon dioxide generator of this invention includes a photocatalyst and a solid kneaded product containing an organic binder 52 kneaded with the photocatalyst 51 as a main component, and satisfies following (i), (ii). (i) The organic binder 52 disintegrates by photocatalysis of the photocatalyst 51 and generates carbon dioxide. (ii) When the kneaded product 60 is irradiated with an active ray directed to the photocatalyst 51 with intensity of 0.8 mJ/cm.sec, carbon dioxide is generated with a generation rate of 0.1 nL/cmsec or more at atmospheric temperature and pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
