PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can continuously and safely drive a motor even when a load torque to the motor permanently exceeds an output torque of the motor.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming part 2 that forms an image on a recording medium; a recording medium storage part 3 that stores the recording medium; a paper feed and conveyance part 4 that conveys the recording medium to the image forming part; a motor 43a that is provided in the image forming apparatus and/or the paper feed and conveyance part; a load torque detection part 52a that detects a load torque to the motor; and a current control part 52b that controls a current to be supplied to the motor on the basis of the load torque detected by the load torque detection part. When the load torque exceeds an output torque of the motor, the current control part controls the current so that the number of rotations of the motor becomes smaller than a predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
