The invention provides a navigation device using tunnel information. The device is not affected by overrun or underrun in map matching, as well as by entrances and exits of tunnels, and can accurately match maps. The entrance and exit of the tunnel of a current road of a vehicle is detected, regions within a predetermined distance before and after the entrance and exit of the tunnel are set as prohibited areas for adjacent roads to move, and roads adjacent to the entrance and exit detected by a detection unit for the entrance and exit of the tunnel are detected to be tunnel roads or ordinary roads. When the vehicle is in the prohibited areas for adjacent roads to move, a detection unit for the adjacent roads performs a process for inhibiting moving to a map match of the adjacent roads on basis of a tunnel road or an ordinary road.
