<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine device in which an exhaust gas cooling means 18 is compactly arranged without scarcely enlarging an installation width dimension (height, lateral width dimension and fore-and-aft dimension) of an engine 1. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas recirculation device 15 is arranged at an air intake manifold 3 of the engine 1, and a flywheel housing 8 is arranged at the engine 1.
