<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coherent light source which can generate a resonant light pair capable of sustaining a quantum coherence state stably. <P>SOLUTION: A light generation unit 10 generates a plurality of coherent rays of light 12 including a first and a second ray of light and irradiates an alkali metal atom group. A light detection unit 30 detects the intensity of light which transmitted the alkali metal atom group. A control unit 40 controls, based on the detected intensity of light, a frequency difference between the first and the second ray of light so that it matches a frequency equivalent to an energy difference between a first and a second ground level, and also controls the wavelength of the first ray of light so that it matches a wavelength equivalent to an energy difference between an excitation level or a level near that and the first ground level, and the wavelength of the second ray of light so that it matches a wavelength equivalent to an energy difference between the excitation level or the level near that and the second ground level. A light emission unit 50 extracts part of the plurality of coherent rays of light 12 and emits it to an alkali metal atom group 80. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
