<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boxing apparatus capable of preventing articles having a number less than a necessary number from being housed in an external box. <P>SOLUTION: The boxing apparatus 10 includes: an article detection device 100 having article detection sensors 102 of the same number as a plurality of articles T, the detection device detecting the presence/absence of each of the plurality of articles T by each of the article detection sensors 102 during pushing operation by an article pushing device 16; and an alarm generation device which gives an alarm.
