A field pole magnet is manufactured from a plurality of magnet pieces arranged on a plane such that side surfaces thereof face each other with a gap filled with adhesive or resin therebetween. Until the adhesive or resin is cured, pressing force is applied to the magnet pieces at least in the direction orthogonal to the plane using a pressing member. An elastic material is used for a surface that presses the magnet pieces of the pressing member. Since the elastic material accommodates a contamination substance, height differences among the magnet pieces, and the surface roughness of each of the magnet pieces, the pressing force applied to each of the magnet pieces can be made uniform. |
