[Also in Division F2] A belt shifting device for a knitting machine comprising an idler pulley 3 and a fixed pulley 4 has a carriage 7 with a belt transfer yoke 5, 6 guided upon shafts 8 and 13, and held in a driving position, Fig. 5, against the action of a return spring 10 by a trip lever 26. The driving pulley 4 is engaged through the action of a hand operated control lever 24 pivoted on a shaft 19. The lever 24 has an upper arm 22 which raises the trip lever 26 and a lower longer arm 23 which simultaneously displaces the carriage 7. The drive may be disengaged by raising the trip lever 26 either manually by movement of arm 22 or automatically by lever 31 being pivoted under the control of an electromagnet influenced by a stop motion device on the machine. |
