The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling a variable cylinder de-activation engine. The apparatus of the present invention comprises: a fuel spray unit for spraying fuel with a cylinder; a suction valve for inducting new air with the cylinder; an ignition unit for igniting the mixture of the fuel and the new air in the cylinder; an exhaust valve to discharge exhaust gas to the cylinder; and a control unit for controlling the ignition unit, the fuel spray unit, the suction valve, and the exhaust valve to make some cylinders among the multiple cylinders rest and to make the other cylinders keep driving when the status of the vehicle satisfies the preset cylinder de-activation (CDA) condition, and for controlling the ignition unit, the fuel spray unit, the suction valve, and the exhaust valve to convert driving cylinders from the other cylinders to the some cylinders when the operation time of the status of resting of the some cylinders reaches a first standard time. |
