According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method of indexing similar users in a recommendation system is provided. The method comprises: generating a social network in a set of recommender data; selecting a seed using the generated social network; clustering users by centering the selected seed; readjusting the cluster; and indexing the cluster as a similar user cluster. The method may further improve accuracy and reliability of recommended items by using a similar user clustering technique to which a social network analysis technique is applied.
