PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily transmit a metadata (information such as parallax information, other service access information, broadcast trigger signal) to a sink device such as television receiver from a source device such as a set-top box.SOLUTION: A broadcast station 100C or a distribution server transmits an audio compression data stream containing a metadata embedded therein. A set-top box 200C as a source device which receives the audio compression data stream transmits the received audio compression data stream to a sink device. A television receiver 300C as the sink device acquires the metadata from the audio compression data stream to perform a corresponding predetermined processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 20
