SIGNAL SOURCE SWITCHING METHOD AND DEVICE

A signal source switching method is disclosed. The method comprises the following steps: upon detecting a test command, testing whether each signal source channel of a multimedia playback device has signal input; obtaining the video signals of signal source channels having signal input; on the basis of preset caching rules, encoding and caching to a memory the video signals obtained; and, upon detecting a switch signal source command, reading from the memory the video signal corresponding to the post-switch signal source channel, and displaying the video signal. A signal source switching device is also disclosed. In the signal source switching method and device of the present invention, when switching signal source channels, the post-switch image signal may be displayed more quickly, thereby greatly reducing visible freezing when switching signal source channels, and thus improving the visual effects of the multimedia playback device.
