<p>929,930. Heat-treatment furnace. HEURTEY, S. A. July 28, 1961 [Aug. 1, 1960], No. 27353/61. Class 51 (2). A heat-treatment furnace for open-wound coils of sheet material comprises a furnace chamber 1 with vertical side-walls, a vaned charge support 7, a domed lid 13 enclosing the furnace, a heating cover 17 surmounting the lid and means at the bottom of the chamber for circulating the furnace atmosphere. A deflector 15 is arranged below the lid 13 with a central sleeve 16 extending into the axial space of the coil, so that the atmosphere is directed against the lid 13 to improve the heating. A fan 5, driven from a motor 4 by a shaft 3 passing downwardly through the furnace bottom is placed in the axial opening of a charge support 7, having an annular bottom plate surmounted by vanes 8 which carry a sleeve 9 surrounding the fan 5 and spaced from the bottom plate of the support 7. Guiding vanes 25 may be arranged between the vanes 8. The heating cover 17 has a burner 20 directing a flame on to the top of the cover 17, and a flue 22 with a heater for combustion air.</p> |
