The invention relates to a swash plate machine (1) in the form of an axial piston pump (2) and/or an axial piston motor (3), comprising a cylinder drum (5) which is mounted in a rotatable manner about a rotational axis (8); piston bores (6); pistons (7) which are movably mounted in the piston bores (6); a driveshaft (9) which is at least rotationally fixed to the cylinder drum (5) and which is mounted in a rotatable manner about the rotational axis (8); a pivoting cradle (14) which is pivotally mounted about a pivot axis (15) and which comprises a support surface (18) for directly or indirectly mounting the pistons (7) on the support surface (18); a cradle bearing (20) for the pivoting cradle (14); and a housing (4) with a first face (64) and a second face (65), wherein the first and second face (64, 65) are two housing (4) faces (64, 65) lying opposite each other with respect to the rotational axis (8) as a longitudinal axis (8) of the driveshaft (9), and the cradle bearing (20) is arranged in the region of the first face (64) of the housing (4).
