A bandage is made from an absorbent fibrous layer enclosed in a crepe bandage comprising kinked threads, as in the parent Specification, the edge portions of which overlap each other. The absorbent layer is preferably formed from non-woven cellulosic fibres interlocked by a "needle loom" process, whereby a proportion of the fibres are forced through the mass in the direction of its thickness to bind it together. The kinked threads of the wrapper readily cling to the surface of the absorbent layer and to themselves, over the area of overlap, thereby providing a unitary bandage which adheres to itself during use.
