METHOD FOR PERFORMING EVOLVED MULTIMEDIA BROADCAST AND MULTICAST SERVICE(EMBMS) COUNTING IN WIRELESS SYSTEMS

The present invention relates to a method for performing evolved multimedia broadcast and multicast service (eMBMS) counting in a wireless system. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving a multicast control channel (MCCH) packet by a radio link control (RLC) layer of user equipment (UE); transferring the MCCH packet to a radio resource control (RRC) layer of the UE; generating an MBMS counting response by the RRC layer; receiving a sign for successfully receiving an MBMS counting request through the RLC layer; checking whether the RLC layer is received during a selected MCCH modification section; and discarding at least one follow-up MCCH packet received during the selected MCCH modification section. Therefore, the method effectively performs an eMBMS counting procedure in a wireless system.
