PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article with reduced deposition of a bacterial cell which prevents a bacterial cell from being deposited thereon and also allows a wider selection of materials, and a bacterial cell deposition preventing method.SOLUTION: A n article with reduced deposition of a bacterial cell 10 has a fine concavo-convex structure on its surface, the fine concavo-convex structure having an interval between adjacent convex portions shorter than the length five times as large as the size of a bacterial cell. Preferably, the surface on the fine concavo-convex structure side has hydrophilic or water-repellent properties.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
