EXAMINER The present invention relates to compositions and methods for improving the quality of processed sperm. The method comprises treating sperm cells during processing to improve cell integrity comprising the steps of a) processing a sperm cell sample; and b) adding vitamin B12, or a vitamin B12 vitamer, in the concentration range of 0.01 mg/ml to 1 mg/ml to the sperm cell sample to form a sperm cell composition.
