924,528. Type-bar-making machines. LINOTYPE G.m.b.H. April 19, 1961, No. 14210/61. Class 100 (3). [Also in Group XXII] Metal pots.-The neck 2, Fig. 1, of a metal pot 1 is heated by elements 23, 24 and the portion 16 of the neck which is empty of metal during casting is surrounded by heat-insulating material 25. The pot is supported in a jacket 3 at the rear by an adjusting screw 21 and at the front by a shaft 4, Figs. 1 and 2, mounted on bearings 5, 6 on the jacket and in a bearing block 12 supported on ribs 7, 7<SP>1</SP> on the pot. Insulating layers of mica are provided between the block and the ribs. The rod can be displaced axially for adjustment of the pot along the mould. In another form, Fig. 7, the shaft 40 is threaded at 45 and received in an internally threaded member 46, rotation of the rod causing axial movement thereof. A hollow cylindrical guide surface of the pot receives a cylindrical resilient member 47 accommodating the shaft 40, so that the pot can also move angularly a limited amount. |
