A multi-tier platform-as-a-service (PaaS) deployment reduced to a single-tier architecture for development is disclosed. A method of the disclosure includes mapping multiple tiers of a PaaS system to a consolidated environment executable on a virtual machine (VM), wherein networking stacks of the VM maintain a separation between the multiple tiers in the consolidated environment, and providing the consolidated environment as a development instance of the PaaS system for execution on the VM, the consolidated environment facilitating testing of code changes to the PaaS system. |

1. A method, comprising:
mapping, by a processing device, multiple tiers of a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) system to a consolidated environment executable on a virtual machine (VM), wherein networking stacks of the VM maintain a separation between the multiple tiers in the consolidated environment; providing, by the processing device, the consolidated environment as a development instance of the PaaS system for execution on the VM, the consolidated environment facilitating testing of code changes to the PaaS system in view of a source code repository; identifying, in view of a correlation between one or more packages and a section of the source code repository, a package of the development instance of the PaaS system that is affected by the code changes; and in view of an identification of the package of the development instance of the PaaS system that is affected by the code changes, rebuilding the package. |
