<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of preventing positional displacement of an optical component. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1 comprises: a holding member 8 holding the optical component 7; an optical component housing in which the optical component 7 is accommodated; and a base member 9 fixed to the external face of the optical component housing and used for fixing the holding member 8 to the optical component housing. On the external face of the optical component housing, a support face is formed for slidably supporting the holding member 8. The holding member 8 comprises: a holding member body 81 holding the optical component 7; and a slide part 82 projecting toward the outside of the optical component housing and supported by the support face.
