The vehicle transmission (1) is provided with: a transmission mechanism (10) having a first engaging device (C1), which is capable of connecting/disconnecting transmission of motive power between an engine (4) and a first input shaft (13) of a first group of transmission gears, and a second engaging device (C2), which is capable of connecting/disconnecting transmission of motive power between the engine (4) and a second input shaft (14) of a second group of transmission gears (12); a differential mechanism (20), which connects the rotation shaft (31) of a rotating machine (30) with the first input shaft (13) and the second input shaft (14) so as to allow differential rotation; and a control device (50). The control device (50) controls the first engaging device (C1), the second engaging device (C2), and the rotating machine (30), is able to switch between a stepped gear shifting state and a continuously variable gear shifting state, and is characterized in performing control so that, between the stepped gear shifting state and the continuously variable gear shifting state, the vehicle assumes the state having the relatively higher efficiency. Consequently, the vehicle transmission (1) exhibits the effect of being able to improve fuel efficiency. |
