The present invention relates to a navigation device and a route providing method thereof. The present invention provides the navigation device and the route providing method thereof, capable of providing an optimal driving route reflecting height information of a vehicle. The navigation device comprises: a storage unit to store data on a vehicle; a sensor unit to measure a height of a cargo loaded in the vehicle; an image input unit receiving image information of the cargo; and a control unit calculating a maximum height of the cargo loaded in the vehicle based on the image information inputted by the image input unit and a measurement result of the sensor unit, and calculates a route to a destination based on an overall height of the vehicle stored in the storage unit and the calculated maximum height. |
