A scaffold for bone augmentation comprising: a superstructure configured and dimensioned to substantially ameliorate a bone defect, said superstructure comprising: a biocompatible material having a strength and tensility sufficient to be permanently stationed between an upper jaw and a lower jaw; a first face arranged to face a bone surface of the bone defect and come in contact with substantially all of the bone surface; a second face, opposing said first face; a plurality of perforations extending from said first face to said second face; and bone augmentation material deposited within said plurality of perforations, wherein said perforations are of a size sufficient to secure said bone augmentation material deposited within said plurality of perforations, and wherein said biocompatible material comprises a biocompatible polyimide exhibiting: a tensile strength of 80-140 megapascals; a tensile modulus of 2,900-4,600 megapascals; and a porosity of 1.4-2.2 percent.
