PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods (e.g., large-scale methods) for the production of nucleotide sugars, which are modified with a polymeric modifying group, such as poly(alkylene oxide) moieties (e.g., poly(ethylene glycol) or poly(propylene glycol) moieties).SOLUTION: A production method comprises: (i) contacting a reaction mixture comprising the modified nucleotide sugar with an anion exchange medium; (ii) eluting the nucleotide sugar from the anion exchange medium, thereby forming an eluate fraction comprising the modified nucleotide sugar; and (iii) desalting the eluate fraction.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
