[Problem] To provide a plated steel material and a coated steel material that have sacrificial corrosion resistance as well as a highly environmentally harmonious color tone from the viewpoint of design quality, and that make it possible to obtain both a satisfactory outer appearance and sacrificial corrosion resistance. [Solution] The plated steel material according to the present invention is provided with a steel material and a plating layer which is positioned on the surface of the steel material and which contains at least Sn and Zn. The plating layer comprises a Zn plating layer positioned on the steel material and an Sn-Zn plating layer positioned on the Zn plating layer. The adhered amount of Sn in the plating layer is 0.1 g/m2 to 10 g/m2 in terms of Sn amount. The adhered amount of Zn in the plating layer is 10 g/m2 to 60 g/m2 in terms of Zn amount. The ratio Sn:Zn between the adhered amount of Sn and the adhered amount of Zn is 50:50 to 0.2:99.8. The Zn concentration in the Sn-Zn plating layer is 4 mass% to 50 mass%. |
