The invention provides a winch for an elevator, in which a rotating part is concealed in the back of a frame body. With the elevator winch, the rotation of a rope wheel can be confirmed with eyesight without the arrangement of an eyehole. The elevator winch comprises a rotation part having a rope wheel which winds a main sling connected to a lift car and rotates with a rotating shaft as the center, a frame body which can be rotated with the rotating shaft penetrating through the frame part as the bearing and supports the suspending load of the lift car while enabling the rotation part to rotate, a drive unit which enables the rotation part to rotate with respect to the frame part, and a protective cover which covers the gap between the frame part and the rotating shaft at the outer side of the frame part and is fixed to the rotating shaft. |
